This single malt Scotch is one of two expressions in the Portuguese Collection , a series that highlights the influence of finishing in Portuguese wine casks on the character of Tomatin whiskies.
Its aging process takes place in two stages: it is first matured for 8 years in traditional oak casks , then continues its maturation for a further 7 years in ex-Madeira casks , bringing its total aging to 15 years. This long finishing period enriches the whisky's aromatic profile, giving it greater complexity, depth, and elegance, while preserving the balance characteristic of the distillery's style.
