Trois Rivières Cuvée Saint-Pierre 43°: Description and customer reviews

Trois Rivières Saint-Pierre is the worthy successor to cuvé Oman and cuvée Bois d'Inde.

Like the other 2 blends, the name comes from one of the three rivers (the most easterly) that irrigate the estate. These three rivers, as you may have guessed, were used to baptize this emblematic Martinique rum brand.

This rhum agricole is a blend of 11 great vintages assembled and aged for a further 10 years.

This is a limited series, and each bottle is numbered.

Nico's tasting notes

On the nosean intoxicating woodlein relief immediately plunges us into a bed of mellow oak. Concentration is the order of the day, and a few fruity notes quickly reach us, coated in solvent. Freshness takes over, with a touch of oxidation, naturally bringing to mind calvados-style apple and pear, with their hint of acidity.

With aeration, the rum is decidedly comfortable, with mellow tannins enhanced by an acidity that is definitely trying to make a place for itself. The result is a balance between marked, mature wood, spices and dried fruit, and cane that's still fresh and sparkling.

On the palate, the rum becomes lighter and the wood loosens its grip. The texture is very fluid, and the totally melted spices glide over the dried fruit. The woodiness glimpsed on the nose returns on the mid-palate, and the cask impregnates the tongue with its grittiness. Cane pepper binds with oak dust in a flinty sheen.

The finish gives way to a candied cane with ripe fruit.

"The woody charm that envelops the nose gives way to a light, mellow palate..."

Very good rum which closes the trilogy of the "three rivers" distillery with a very fresh and fruity signature, which goes against the grain of the OMAN and BOIS D'INDES vintages.

Very good rum that concludes the trilogy of the distillery 'trois rivières' with a very fresh and fruity signature, which contrasts with the OMAN and BOIS D'INDES cuvée.

One of the best rums I've tasted so far, my favorite at the last Bordeaux Rum Fest. A small downside is its price, which, like many bottles, explodes in front of fake enthusiasts who just want to make money on bottles of rum at the expense of real amateurs.

One of the best rums I have tasted so far, my favorite from the last rum fest in Bordeaux. A small downside on its price which, like many bottles, skyrockets in front of fake enthusiasts who just want to make money on rum bottles at the expense of true connoisseurs.

If you like it, we recommend :

  • A very old JM, well marked by the barrel...
  • Another of the three rivers, for an elegantly woody rum...
