Crystal Head grain vodka is made in Canada from corn. Its ambition is to be the purest in the world, thanks to the use of ice water, quadruple distillation and septuple filtration (including 3 through quartz crystals called "Herkimer diamonds").
What's more, the skull-shaped bottle created by an Italian company is an unusual object in its own right. It can be stored and reused in a multitude of ways.
Our tasting note from Thomas
The nose offers a smooth, even silky texture. Discreet hints of almond, sesame, corn, citrus (lemon, bergamot) and mild spices (white pepper) are evident. This is an entry that plays on both freshness and roundness.
The palate is very silky, contrasting dried fruit, sesame and white pepper. The freshness of bergamot soon joins almonds and chopped herbs. The second part of the palate is very fresh, but also slightly dry.
The finish isn't very long, but there are a few lingering aromas of citrus (zest, pips), almonds, corn and fresh herbs. This is followed by drier flavors (citrus zest, sweet spices).
