William Hinton 6 ans Portuguese Fortified Wine Cask is a pure cane juice rum from Madeira Island. This island has the privilege of producing agricultural rums from its own cane, grown on very small terraced plots. Distilled in a traditional column, the pure juice is aged in French oak barrels for 6 years.
A blend was then made with very old rum from the former Hinton distillery, now closed. This blend was then matured for a further 9 months in casks of Portuguese fortified wine, otherwise known as port. 252 bottles were produced for this single cask.
