This Zaka bottled rum was distilled in 2008 on the Caribbean island of Trinidad.
Bottled in 2021, it boasts a unique feature. This rum spent 6 months in a Japanese whisky barrel, after having aged for 13 years in American ex-bourbon oak barrels. It is precisely this Japanese whisky barrel that makes this cuvée special, as it comes from the Karuizawa distillery.
This highly reputed distillery, closed since 2000, was located in the Chūbu region of Japan. It produced single malt whiskies that were aged in sherry casks.
