ZN09 has selected a Breton whisky from the Armorik distillery. Armorik was founded by the Warenghem family in Lannion at the end of the 19th century.
Distilled in August 2015, this whisky was aged in a vinho Diaz "STR" cask.
STR stands for Shave Toast Re charr, and is a process used to bring a second-hand barrel back to life. The first step is to shave the barrel. First, the barrel is opened and the inner layer, heavily saturated by previous aging, is removed. Next, the inside of the barrel is toasted. Finally, the casks are toasted one last time to release the maximum amount of aroma, depending on the toast required.
Bottling took place in July 2023 in 202 numbered bottles. This whisky underwent a slight reduction before bottling.
