Aultmore is a Scottish distillery located on Speyside.

Alexander Edward, also known for his involvement in the Craigellachie and Oban distilleries, built it in 1896.

In fact, Aultmore was born in a golden age for Scotch whisky. Its success was immediate.
Its whisky was mainly used to support the blenders, who were prospering in the late 19thth century.

Subsequently, in 1923, Alexander Edward sold it to John Dewar & Sons, who soon joined Distillers Company Limited (later Diageo).

It was not until 1971 that the distillery doubled its production capacity.

Finally, in 1998 Bacardi bought the John Dewar & Sons group from Diageo, and Aultmore came under its control.

Long confined to a role as a component of blends, the Speyside distillery has had an official regular range since 2014. It now includes a 12-year-old and an 18-year-old.

Special editions can also be found in the "Exceptional Cask" range. Read less
