Beefeater

In 1820, James Burrough developed his own gin recipe, which he named Beefeater in homage to the famous keepers of the Tower of London, the "Beef Eaters". A few decades later, in 1876, a pharmacist and botanist by training, he refined this formula at the Chelsea Distillery , located on Cale Street, thus laying the foundations for the brand's iconic style.
Beefeater London Dry Gin is based on a subtle blend of nine carefully selected natural botanicals: juniper berries, Seville orange and lemon peel, angelica root and seeds, coriander seeds, almonds, orris root, and licorice . This precise balance gives the gin its intense, fresh, and perfectly harmonious character.
After nearly a century under the control of the Burrough family, the distillery was sold in 1987 to the Whitbread Group, marking the beginning of a new era. In 1995 , the arrival of Desmond Payne , a world-renowned master distiller, contributed to Beefeater's international success, notably with the launch of Beefeater 24 in 2008. The brand joined the Pernod Ricard Group in 2005 .
Today, the distillery is committed to responsible practices , optimizing its energy efficiency and using renewable energy sources. No artificial additives are used, in order to preserve the purity and authenticity of the gin.
Recognized worldwide, Beefeater has received numerous awards that attest to its consistent quality and distinctive taste, making the brand a benchmark in the world of spirits. Read less
