Bobby's

Bobby's comes from the Netherlands, the country that laid the foundations of gin.

Jacobus Alfons , nicknamed Bob or Bobby by family and friends, was born in Indonesia. In 1950, he migrated to the Netherlands.
In love with genever (the ancestor of gin), Jacobus Alfons began producing gin, infusing Indonesian herbs and spices.

However, the brand did not yet exist. In fact, it wasn't until Bobby's grandson, Sebastiaan, discovered an old bottle in the family home. Inspired by this discovery, he set off for Schiedam in the Netherlands, where he collaborated with the master distiller at Herman Jansen distillery, a producer of genever since 1777.

So, in 2014, Bobby's Sciedam Dry Gin was born, made from organic botanicals.

Today we find a gin and a genever that pay homage to the cultural mix of Indonesian and Dutch. The choice of bottle is no exception. It's a modernized version of the traditional jenever bottle (kruik). What's more, the design is inspired by ikat, an Indonesian dyeing and weaving process. Read less
