Family production

The Drouin family settled nearHonfleur in 1960. Christian Drouin Père wished to produce Calvados and bought the Fiefs Saint-Anne, where cider apple trees grew. With the help of Pierre Pivet, a renowned distiller, Christian Drouin began distilling his own ciders.

In 1969, Christian Drouin Fils became a partner. However, in order to maintain sufficient stocks, Christian Drouin waited until 1979 to begin marketing his calvados. From then on, the house refined its art of maturation, and old calvados began to appear.

In 1991-92, Christian Drouin moved his production to another farm, in Coudray-Rabut, near Pont l'Evêque.

Guillaume Drouin has been at the head of the family business since 2013. He is the third generation...

Christian Drouin: a maturing experience

The apples grown in the Drouin family orchards represent some thirty varieties. They are produced according to the rules of Organic Agriculture.

Slow fermentation is followed by double distillation.

The final stage is ageing the calvados. Small casks are chosen, often old, and of various origins: sherry, port, Rivesaltes and Banyuls casks.

Over the years, Christian Drouin has developed a complex range. These include La pomme prisonnière, vintage wines and the "expressions" series, featuring unique casks.
Of course, Christian Drouin is above all founded on a range of blends. These include Calvados Selection, La Réserve des Fiefs, VSOP, XO, Hors d'âge and 25 ans.

Last but not least, Maison Drouin also offers a pommeau de Normandie, a Blanche, a Gin, ciders and a perry! Read less
