De Silver rum is a tribute to a ^17th-century pirate who concocted his own recipe for spiced rum to give himself courage and strength.

A few centuries later, here's a double-distilled agricultural rum from Guadeloupe. A cocktail of spices from the island of Saint Barth (the recipe for which is kept secret) is added between the two distillations, perfuming without coloring. This is similar to the method used to make gin, and this is where it differs from "traditional" spiced rums, which are often very dark.
