Hendrick's is a Scottish gin brand produced in the village of Girvan.

Hendrick's is a Scottish gin brand produced in the village of Girvan.

Although there is some talk of its origins in 1886, under the leadership of William Grant & Sons, the business began in 1999. Since then, each production batch has yielded just 500 liters at a time!

The gin's creator is Lesley Gracie, who is still the master distiller today.

However, it has to be said that its (uncertain) birth was a team effort.
John Ross, the current director, and David Stewart, master distiller at William Grant & Sons, were the driving force behind the project.

In addition, Hendrick's uses two different types of stills in its production process.

On the one hand, there's the Bennett iron still, which dates back to 1860. It brings together the spirit and the plants used to obtain a rich liquid.

On the other hand, the Carter-Head, which dates back to 1948 and is still rare today. It produces a light, delicate distillate. Read less
