Michter's is an American whiskey distillery.

Its history dates back to 1753. This makes it the first distillery in American history. Originally named Bomberger's (or Shenk), it produces rye whiskey in Pennsylvania.

It continued to produce as best it could, changing its name to Michter's in 1950. Unfortunately, the distillery closed in 1988.

However, two men are going to revive it: Joseph Magliocco and Richard Newman, both previously involved in spirits companies.

Now based in Kentucky, Michter's explores the possibilities of American whiskey.

Thanks in particular to the experienced Willie Prat (since replaced by Pamela Heilmann), originality is the order of the day: net reduction before casking, reuse of bourbon casks, heating of the cellars...

The result is a high-quality Michter's available in various editions. These include US 1 American Whiskey,US 1 Sour Mash,US 1 Bourbon andUS Single Barrel Rye.
There are also rarer versions, 10 years, 20 years and even 25 years. Read less
