In southern Mexico, in the heart of the Sierra Mazateca mountains, Master Distiller Jose Luis Carrera's family has been making "aguardiente de caña" (white rum) for 3 generations.

The lush tropical environment is ideal for growing fruit, coffee and, of course, sugar cane.
