Pink Pigeon, named after a rare species of pigeon found in Mauritius, is a brand of spiced rum whose recipe was developed with a well-known British bottler: Berry Bros & Rudd.

The rum is produced at the Medine distillery, the oldest still in operation, which backs onto a large sugar refinery from which it recovers rich molasses.

Médine has long produced a traditional rum distilled at very high proof for the local market, and since the early 2000s has diversified into higher quality rum when the legal constraint prohibiting the production of richly flavored rums disappeared.

In addition to Pink Pigeon, Medine also produces Penny Blue rum, a top-of-the-range rum that offers vintages. Read less
