Spytail

Spytail is the name of a 19th-century French "Bathysphère" submarine, a submersible derived from the cloche. This balloon shape, reproduced here in the bottle design, recalls the adventures of Jules Verne, as well as the fact that the Charente was the first French submarine testing site.

This spiced rum is a reproduction of a ginger rum recipe from the same period. Spytail is a blend of Trinidad and Guyana rums aged for 5 years. It was matured in cognac casks for 3 to 6 months. At the same time, it was infused with fresh ginger and other spices. Read less
