The history of Pisco Waqar dates back to 1850 in Chile, with the union of Escolástica Álvarez and Rafael Camposano. From families steeped in pisco since Spanish colonization, they founded the Pisquera Tulahuén. The Waqar brand was born in 2011, under the supervision of master distiller Jaime Camposano. Its name means "white heron" in the traditional Mapuche and Quechua languages.

This Chilean pisco is distilled from white wines made from Muscat of Alexandria and Muscat rosé grapes from the Limarí Valley. The grapes are harvested by hand in the Tulahuén valley, at the foot of the Andes mountain range. The wines are distilled twice in a traditional copper and wood still. The distillate is then rested for 6 months in vats, before being bottled and rested again for 1 month. Pisco Waqar also benefits from a Denomination of Origin (D.O.: Denominacion de Origen).
