980 Rum Agricola Da Madeira comes to us from a small Portuguese island in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Morocco: Madeira. Rums are produced there from pure cane juice, also known as agricultural rums.
The cane juice is distilled in columns, then placed in barrels of different types, which are then blended for this vintage. In this case, we have 3 and 6 year old rums aged in French oak barrels that have previously contained red wine, as well as 21 year old rums matured in French oak barrels that have this time held Madeira wine.
