Appleton Estate Rare Casks 12 years 43°: Description and customer reviews

Reflecting the exceptional spirit that distinguishes the Jamaican distillery, Appleton 12 Year Old Aged Rum is the product of a meticulous blend of several cuvées aged in oak barrels for a period of 12 to 30 years.

Today, this rum is one of Jamaica's most popular, reflecting both centuries-old know-how and a sun-drenched terroir.

Laurent's tasting notes

Its color is a light amber.

On the nose, we have Jamaican markers combined with sweetness: ether, glue, vanilla, orange and walnut. The whole is relatively complex yet easy to drink.

On the palate, the attack is supple without being sweet. A certain woodiness accompanies vanilla and orange peel. The whole is not devoid of vivacity.

The fairly long vanilla-dominated finish reveals a touch of cocoa.

I'm a beginner and I loved this rum, I find it iodized/salty, and I love this sweet/salty mix.

  3. Val_Desh

Top quality, excellent value for money for a Jamaican.
For those who prefer a funkier rum, go for a Smith and Cross.
    For beginners, it's great!

  4. philippe

    Good rum not on it

  5. Customer

woody, lively and aggressive taste on the palate (normal, as Jamaican)

  8. Frédéric René Roger MAURIN

An excellent, easy-drinking rum. A gentle introduction to Jamaican.

  9. Fabien

Purchase discovery, my first Jamaican, good but no point of comparison with other rums from the country...

  10. Xavier

A Jamaican classic, to compete with El Dorado 15 yo and Mount Gay XO....
