Home of Bob Marley and the Rastafarian philosophy, Jamaica is also known as the home of one of the most prestigious distilleries in the Caribbean. Although the first written records of rum production date back to 1749, the origins of the estate actually date back to the mid-17th century. The fertile land belonged to the Dickinson family. Until the beginning of the 20th century, the estate changed ownership three times and is now owned by the Wray family, who have chosen to continue the brand's age-old traditions.
More than 4,000 hectares of fertile land in the Nassau Valley grow the sugar cane plants that are used to make the prestigious Appleton rums. Each vintage draws its flavours from the karst soil and sunny climate. Read less
