"Three Wood" is a clue to the ageing process of Auchentoshan Three Wood Lowland Whisky. This cuvée owes its name to the three types of cask used to age this Single Malt:
American oak ex-Bourbon cask, ex-Sherry Oloroso cask and ex-Pedro Ximénez cask. The maturation of these three woods creates a delicate balance.
Gourmet notes of lightly toasted vanilla come from the Bourbon cask. The sherry casks add sweet spices and dark fruit aromas such as blackcurrant.
