Beenleigh 5 ans is a rum aged successively in brandy and bourbon casks.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is simple and balanced, in an English style revolving around caramelized nuts, wood and vanilla. The rum quickly clears up on fruit, especially orange peel, with a fairly concentrated feel. Resting brings a mellow sensation, with chocolate, toast and soft wood. Caramelized nuts remain greedy and full-bodied.
The palate is round and takes us in a surprising direction. Ripe, sun-kissed fruit lights up the palate, bringing a soft, comfortable warmth. Then toasty, caramelized wood brings a more complex thickness to the tongue, with a hint of chocolate and hazelnut.
The finish is greedy, with a rather sweet rum and orange zest.
"A rather sweet but also rather concentrated version of the English style, with naturally a so british orange zest..."
