Benriach Malting Season is an edition that celebrates the malting period and the know-how of the distillery.
In fact, Benriach has had its own malting areas for over 120 years. Every year, during the “malting season”, the distillery staff malts barley the old-fashioned way in these historic locations.
For this second edition, the single malt is made from a single variety of barley: Concerto. The latter was malted on land in the fall of 2013 using a traditional method.
The aging of this whiskey took place in old first-fill Bourbon barrels. Bottling took place in 2022.
