For this cuvée, the Benromach distillery has added Cara Gold malted barley to its recipe.
This is a light-colored roasted malt that is quite rare in the whisky world. It is more commonly used in breweries, where it adds fruity notes.
It is blended here with the lightly peated malt traditionally used by Benromach.
Benromach Cara Gold Malt aged in first-fill bourbon casks before bottling in 2022.
