Aged according to the solera system, which builds an aromatic balance between young and old rums, Botran 15 is an exceptional cuvée that benefits from the particular climatic conditions of Guatemala's high altitudes. The bourbon casks used to mature the vintages that make up Botran 15 have previously contained sherry and port.
Botran 15 is perfect for drinking neat. It can also be used to make sophisticated cocktails.
Laurent's tasting notes
Its color is amber.
On the nose, it's dry and rather fine. Banana, vanilla and dried fruit are the main aromas of this rum. There's also a light woodiness and a certain freshness.
On the palate, the attack is soft, but it becomes increasingly dry. Tobacco notes are present, while sweet spices are more discreet.
The finish is fairly long, with a strong woody aroma that even dries out the mouth with its tannic character. A hint of vanilla joins the wood.

The first time I tasted it, I was expecting a Zacapa subtype, but in the end this Guatemalan rum is quite dry.

This kind of rum is my thing. I like these tastes without too much sugar and this is perfect.
