The 51 is Brazil's best-selling cachaça. It is imported into Europe under the name Cachaça 51 or Pirassununga, from the eponymous town in the state of São Paulo, where the company has its headquarters.
Unbeatable value for money, it's the perfect way to make a delicious, authentic caipirinha!
Nico's tasting notes
The nose opens with a light, fresh cane, adorned with small zests of yellow lemon. The lemon and its bitterness maintain this clear, sparkling character for quite a while, before the cane finds its feet again.
Aeration lifts the aromas and reveals deeper notes of fermented cane juice. Freshness remains the order of the day, but we've taken cachaça's naturalness up a notch.
On the palate, the sweet cane juice flows smoothly over the palate, with a tasty, roundly peppery fiber. The sweetness is really there, so much so that it's surprising.
The finish is very slightly smoky and coppery. A bubble of cane juice remains on the tongue.
"A light, round cachaça that nevertheless expresses natural cane aromas..."
