Caliche Puerto Rican Rum is a blend of 4 aged rums: 3 rums aged 3 to 5 years in American white oak barrels and a fourth aged up to 20 years in the solera method.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose opens with a very light, ethereal rum. Notes of tangy red fruit and lychee are piquant, leading naturally to spices and chili. A little solvent floats through the air, concealing a hint of melon and peach.
The palate is just as light, but it does not fail to catch the palate with a loaf of bread forgotten in the toaster. The woodiness had remained discreet on the nose, but now invades the mouth and wrings the taste buds dry. The spices quiver on the tongue and bind with the alcohol in a sparkling atmosphere.
The finish is discreet, with a hint of woody vanilla.
