Nico's tasting notes
The nose opens with a lovely golden honey, slightly fruity and rather fluid. It rubs shoulders with jammy fruit, mirabelle plum and orange. The woodiness is rather round but shows a balanced sweetness, caressed by vanilla and blond tobacco.
Aeration lets the rum emphasize its fruity side, which willingly becomes a little fresher and slender. Red fruits join in, with sugar-coated strawberries and a few velvety raspberries.
The palate is round from the outset, then develops a spicy feel. The oak is mellow, rather easy and pleasant. Familiar notes of vanilla, blond tobacco and caramel. Then comes a surprising wave of spice, like biting into a peppercorn.
The finish returns to something calmer. What remains is a little tingle on the tongue, and distant flavors of white wood.
"A smooth, pleasant rum that hides its game well and has a spicy mouthfeel..."
