There are distilleries that independent bottlers covet for their typicality and their know-how. This is the case of Caol Ila located on the Isle of Islay.
This house, founded in 1846 not far from Port Askaig, Scotland, is renowned for its heavily peated single malts.
The Signatory Vintage bottler, for its Very Cloudy collection, got its hands on a whisky distilled in 2015. The aging took place in 4 ex-bourbon American oak barrels. The barrel numbers are as follows: #319820, 319822, 319823 and 319826.
Bottling in March 2024 was done without cold filtration.
