In brief: light - ethereal - lemon - cane sugar syrup - caramel
The nose opens with the ethereal notes of a light rum, although there are hints of burnt caramel, nuts and vanilla.
With a little air, the rum thickens on a lemony cane sugar syrup, giving it a candy-like quality. The alcohol is tinged with a slightly industrial character, with solvent and charcoal.
On the palate, the attack is heavier than expected, with ripe exotic fruit and almond. There's also a hint of coconut, and even cane. The lighter alcohol notes then erase this rather "traditional English" profile.
The finish is fine and light, with a hint of caramel on the nose.
