Cashcane Saloon Cask is Cashcane XO but bottled with a slight reduction in titration, at 55° instead of 40°.
Thus, this blend of rums from Barbados (8 years aging), Panama (6 years) and Trinidad (6 years) can express all its aromatic power.
Like the XO (reduced) version, Cahscane Saloon cask is distilled partly in column stills for lightness and partly in copper pot stills for aromatic intensity. Ageing in bourbon casks brings woody and vanilla notes.
It has won numerous awards in international competitions.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose of this rum takes a gentle approach. On the same level, on the surface, we find tobacco, sweet caramel and vanilla, but also a young, still fiery rum. It's the latter that delivers slightly fruity notes of tart candy.
Aeration reveals toasty American oak, from which emerge typical notes of vanilla, tobacco and caramelized nuts.
On the palate, the rum begins its approach with a gently savory American oak barrel (vanilla, wood, tobacco, toasted coconut). Once the taste buds have been conquered, it sends them a peppery, dense, swarming wave that coats the entire palate.
The finish returns to a handful of blanched nuts coated in vanilla caramel.
"A great idea for this punchier version, to try in a cocktail..."
