Cashcane Black Smoke is a liqueur made from aged rums aged between 6 and 8 years (Barbados, Panama, Trinidad).
The bourbon barrel staves (i.e. the planks that make up the barrels), reduced to micro-particles, are toasted and blended with the rum.
Finally, rum is sweetened to 89 grams per liter.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is initially marked by caramel diluted with a rather funky, full-bodied rum. Good fermentation is evident, with aromas of very ripe exotic fruits (mango, jackfruit...). Rest brings a complex, spicy, musky edge, with a certain depth and richness that leads on to leather, meat juices, animal aromas in short.
The palate is rich and spicy, with a naturally smoky attack. The texture is very round and quickly envelops the whole, taking us to a heavier, animal and fruity heart of rum. The rest is spicier, and finally it's the almost peaty smoke that leaves a lasting impression on the palate.
