Cashcane XO is a blend of rums from Barbados (70%), Panama (10%) and Trinidad (20%).
Aged for an average of 7 years in bourbon barrels.
This rum has won several medals, including a silver medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose of this rum is soft and slightly woody. The vanilla of the bourbon barrel is enhanced by a few lightly roasted nuts and oak that has passed through the flame. The wood has slightly caramelized under the effect of the heat, dressing up a rum with a rather light heart.
Aeration tends to undress the rum and reveal its airy side. First wood, then roasted spices, vanilla and caramel. What's left is a soft, fruity quality, somewhere between peach and pear in syrup.
The palate is balanced and delicious. Caramelization sets the tone and coats the well-toasted oak, which has released all its vanilla. A few coconut shavings join the flambé, melting onto the wood before a few sweet spices settle in.
The finish is light, a little peppery and almost spicy.
