Created in 1840, La Chartreuse Jaune is inspired by the recipe for Élixir Végétal. It is a milder herbal liqueur than Chartreuse Verte, made by the Carthusian Fathers at the Aiguenoire distillery in Isère.
It is made over several weeks from 130 plants, flowers, barks, roots and spices. A long period in oak casks is necessary before bottling.
To be consumed chilled between 12° and 13°, on ice, or in a cocktail.
