Chartreuse Jaune was born in 1840. This herbal liqueur, sweeter than Chartreuse Verte, is inspired by the recipe for the Élixir Végétal. It is the fruit of 4 centuries of history since François Hannibal d'Estrées handed over the manuscript in 1605.
It takes several weeks to make. No fewer than 130 plants, flowers, barks, roots and spices are required. A long period in oak casks is followed by bottling at the Aiguenoire distillery in Entre-deux-Guiers, Isère.
It can be enjoyed chilled, on the rocks or in cocktails.
