Produced by the Chichibu distillery, this Single Cask No. 10977 is a rare Japanese whisky, distilled in 2018 and aged for 7 years before being bottled at its natural strength of 65.9%.
This exclusive edition pays homage to the renowned Shibazakura Flower Festival, when the Chichibu hills are blanketed each spring in a spectacular carpet of pink and purple blossoms. Inspired by the beauty and delicacy of this iconic event, this vintage reflects all the elegance and precision of the Chichibu style.
Made from an unpeated distillate produced from malted barley and pure water from the Arakawa River, this single malt benefits from fermentation in Mizunara oak vats followed by double distillation in small Forsyths copper stills .
Its aging in second-fill bourbon casks that previously held peated whisky imparts a subtle complexity: the peat, intentionally discreet, adds depth and dimension without ever overpowering. The result is a silky, harmonious, and perfectly balanced whisky.
