Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, aromas of toasted barrel lead the way. Molasses on toasted wood, walnuts coated with burnt caramel, coffee and scorched spices. A lightly fruity vanilla veil soothes the whole. Aeration opens the toasted notes to roasted nuts and a hint of stone fruit.
The palate is soft and rather fruity, with prunes and dark candied cherries. The rum then grabs the taste buds with slightly spicy spices, coffee and roasted nuts. The texture remains very soft, and the wood gradually blends with the molasses and caramel.
The finish is rather elegant, with some orange peel and licorice.
"A rum with a round, tender heart, wrapped in a very toasty cask..."
