Pinta is an expression of old rum from the Cristobal brand. It is distilled and aged in the Dominican Republic. Its maturation, lasting 6 to 8 years, took place in old bourbon barrels.
The name Pinta is a tribute to the ship on which Christopher Columbus sailed during his first crossing of the Atlantic, in 1492.
Yoann's tasting notes
The nose of this rum is soft and pleasant. The notes that escape from the glass are reminiscent of those of aging in bourbon barrels: vanilla and toasted wood take the lead.
With slight aeration, notes of cocoa appear and tickle our nostrils.
The palate is very pleasant and becomes more and more delicious. The alcohol is very well melted and a fatty film coats the entire palate. Notes of vanilla and caramel fight to take first place. The palate is undoubtedly marked by the aging in bourbon barrels. With time, a fresh and minty side appears.
The finish , moderately long, is carried by notes of milk chocolate and mint.
