Cristóbal Santa Maria 2009 is a blend of molasses rums originating from the Dominican Republic .
These rums were distilled in column stills before being aged in casks where they benefited from a tropical aging of 14 years in ex-bourbon American white oak casks.
The name of this vintage pays homage to the Santa María de la Inmaculada Concepción , better known as the Santa María, the largest of the three caravels used by Christopher Columbus on his first transatlantic voyage in 1492.
