Cristóbal Santa Maria 2023 is a rum originating from the Dominican Republic .
Distilled in 2009 in column stills , it was bottled in 2023 after aging: first tropical for 14 years , starting in American white oak barrels, then continued with a finish in ex-Moscate barrels, bringing additional, round and sweet aromas to the initial cuvée.
The name of this vintage pays homage to the Santa María de la Inmaculada Concepción , better known as the Santa María, the largest of the three ships used by Christopher Columbus during his first transatlantic voyage in 1492.
