Distilled in 2010 in column stills , it was produced in a limited edition of 2,244 bottles.
This rum underwent 14 years of tropical aging, beginning in American white oak barrels, then finished for 3 years in Bordeaux Premier Cru wine casks, adding complexity and aromatic depth. It was bottled in 2024.
The name of this vintage pays homage to the Santa María de la Inmaculada Concepción , better known as the Santa María, the largest of the three ships used by Christopher Columbus during his first transatlantic voyage in 1492.
