Elixir Distillers Fiji 2014 is a traditional molasses rum selected by the independent bottler Elixir Distillers for its The Rum Trail collection. Bottled in 2025, this 11-year-old rum showcases a terroir still relatively unknown to rum enthusiasts and the expertise of a historic Fijian distillery.
Made from molasses derived from a local variety of sugarcane, this rum is column -distilled. Fiji's sugar industry, which has been developing since the 19th century, benefits in particular from volcanic soils that contribute to the specific characteristics of local crops.
The aging process begins in Fiji , where the rum spends one year in ex-bourbon American oak barrels. It is then transferred to Scotland to continue maturing for a further 10 years in second-fill ex-bourbon barrels.
This cuvée is part of The Rum Trail, a collection created by Elixir Distillers under the impetus of Sukhinder Singh to explore the diversity of terroirs and rum-making traditions around the world. Each selection highlights a particular origin and a production method representative of its terroir.
