Emperor Jubilee is a rum from Mauritius that reflects the full variety of the island's know-how. It is distilled from pure cane juice and molasses. It is also a blend of aged rums and white rums. The blending is carried out in very old cognac barrels.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is divided between the sweetness of spices and the heaviness of a full-bodied rum, full of overripe exotic fruits. Cinnamon and vanilla bridge the gap between these two characters, to create a pastry and gourmet profile.
Aeration lays a small vegetal sheet over the glass, like a sweet film scented with medicinal herbs or herbal tea, in the manner of a mountain liqueur. The rum's tropicality can still be discerned beneath the surface, coming out in small, spicy touches.
On the palate, the rum is very round and smooth, with a soft, thick, almost liquor-like texture. The heavier aromas are taken up by sweet spices, so exotic fruits are coated with vanilla and resinous plants are caramelized.
The finish is just as sweet, with orange and coffee liqueur that builds in length.
