We were able to acquire a few bottles of Foursquare Touchstone in American format.
Foursquare Touchstone is a molasses rum produced in Barbados by the Foursquare distillery. It has been aged for 14 years in casks. This bottling is the 22nd in the Exceptional Cask Selection (ECS) series.
Touchstone is a blend of two rums and therefore two double maturations. Each rum is itself a blend of eaux-de-vie distilled in iron and column stills. The first rum is from the 2008 vintage, aged for 12 years in ex-bourbon barrels, then matured for a further 2 years in ex-cognac barrels from Camus. The second rum was aged for 5 years in ex-bourbon casks, then for a further 9 years in ex-cognac casks.
It was bottled in November 2022 without cold filtration, coloring or additives.
Its name refers to a metaphor which in English means a standard or established principle by which something is judged. The choice of this name can be interpreted by the fact that many people compare rums to Foursquare!
