This Grosperrin N°68 is a Fins Bois cognac produced on the limestone hillsides around the village of Vars, at an altitude of around one hundred meters. A rare occurrence in Cognac, where the average altitude is around 20 meters.
This lot, made up of several barrels of old cognacs, was inherited twice. In 1982, on the death of her husband, the producer's widow inherited the estate and ceased to run it. In 2017, she died and bequeathed the precious eaux-de-vie to her children.
It was from them that Maison Grosperrin was able to buy back casks, including this one. This cask was housed separately from the other batches in the cellar of the son, himself a grower on his parents' land.
This is a cognac from a single cask, bottled in January 2021 at its natural strength.
