Highland Park Cask Strength No. 4 is a single malt Scotch whisky expression. This cask strength whisky comes from Highland Park , the northernmost distillery in Scotland.
The aging of this 4th batch took place primarily in European oak sherry casks and American oak casks. These were all first-fill casks.
A small portion of this whisky was also aged in bourbon and port casks.
The bottling of this edition was carried out without reduction and without any addition.
Jeremy's note
On the nose : many fruits are present, notably pear, apple, apricot and raisin, accompanied by light cereal notes.
On the palate : the attack is tangy, releasing the basket of fruit found on the nose, all supported by a firm and lightly toasted oak that brings notes of dark chocolate as well as a smooth honey texture. Spices such as clove and mild pepper are also present.
The finish : smoky and woody notes, with fruit returning at regular intervals.
A complex, highly appealing profile, with a beautiful presence of fruit on the nose and palate.
