Island Signature Anacaona Dominican Gran Reserva is a tribute to the original inhabitants of the island of Hispaniola (now Haiti and the Dominican Republic). The Indians who lived there before Christopher Columbus arrived were the Tainos. Their chief ("cacica") was a princess named Anacaona. Today, she remains a symbol of this ancient people.
This cuvée is a blend of up to twenty different molasses rums. Distilled in columns, they are aged for 3 to 5 years in old American whiskey casks.
