JG Thomson Bold Jamaican Rum is a molasses rum produced in Jamaica. JG Thomson was an Edinburgh-based wine and spirits merchant whose origins date back to the 1700s. The Artisanal Spirits Company (ASC) group, which owns the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, has decided to revive the brand in 2021.
Produced in batches, Bold Jamaican Rum is distilled only with a pot still and then aged in old Bourbon barrels for 3 years in the Jamaican tropics. It is then sent to Scotland for a final refining.
This rum is not cold filtered and there is no added coloring or sugar. It is bottled at 46°.
