The Scottish house Kilchoman presents two exclusive vintages of single malt whiskey for the French market. These two expressions from the “Triskele Casks” collection are produced in small batches of 1260 copies.
The 1st expression is the result of a blend of several whiskey barrels. In the selection of barrels we find:
- 75% old American oak ex-bourbon barrels,
- 20% of STR barrels which contained a Portuguese red wine,
- 5% oloroso sherry casks.
STR “Shave, Toast, Re-charred” barrels are in fact barrels which, after containing red wine, are sanded, toasted and burned again.
