Nico's tasting notes

Although the alembic used is not specified, the nose immediately brings to mind the famous Port Mourant: banana and other fermented and candied exotic fruits, marzipan and an animal, leathery side. What a treat! One has the impression of having stuck one's finger in a good cake batter. The nose is powerful but not burnt, enveloping and creamy. A hint of olive and salt keeps things lively.
Aeration reveals a more tempestuous character, with spices tickling the nostrils. Then prunes and ripe grape juice return like a caress. White fruits make their appearance and are quickly swept away by a tornado of great aroma. Then we think back to the cake, more precisely the cake with its candied fruit. This impression of comfort settles in and continues over time.

The storm doesn't abate on the palate: the entry is lively, although the eye of the storm is soft and creamy. The plum, prune and candied fruit are still delicious. And then the big wind picks up again, with a metallic, burnt edge that has carried a few roasted hazelnuts along its way.

The end of the tasting doesn't falter, the fruit is still very ripe and the slightly burnt aspect hides a salty green olive that will stay on the taste buds for a long time.

"The crossing won't be easy, but in the end you'll let yourself be rocked by the swell..."

The nose is intoxicating. Its alcohol vapors create an intoxication in me. Its notes of banana, cake dough, almond, rubber ball and dried fruit, candied fruit and fermented grapes (cognac).
This Kill Devil has a distinctive nose. Indeed, one might say that it's gourmand to a fault. However, its aromas of rubber and fermented grapes add elegance and maturity. So it's impossible to confine this rum to the label "Rhum gourmand". No, this rum has a balanced, intoxicating, mature, elegant, gourmand nose. In short, it's divine.

On the palate, this Diamond Kill Devil is soft, sweet, greedy yet dry, with notes of cognac and sauternes.

Aromas include licorice, fermented grape, prune, vegetal notes, molasses and banana. Beautiful complexity, balance, clarity in the composition of the aromatic bouquet, intensity. What the people want !!!!

A warm, long finish on molasses, licorice and fruit (fermented grapes and banana).

A great rum that deserves a lot of praise and should delight many rum lovers. Its balance, elegance and delicacy will appeal as much to the fan of English-style rums (rather powerful, spicy) as to those who love French spirits (cognac, armagnac, rum) and are looking for elegance and delicacy in a rum.
